Introduction
The conjugation of Escherichia coli, also known as E.coli, was the bacteria that was the main
focus of the lab. Although E. coli is a common intestinal bacterium, it can cause infections in the
urinary system and produce toxins that is fatal causing kidney failure. E. coli can also cause a
diarrheal disease. "Interest in the role of E. coli as a cause of diarrheal disease has increased
because of the emergence of E. coli o157:h7 and other enterohaemorrhagic E. Coli, due to the
severity of the related disease" (Hunter 2003)...
