Early Life
Saint Paul, whose original name was Saul was born at 10 AD in the town of Tarsus in the country of Cilicia, which is now known as Turkey. Not much is known about St. Paul's parents except that his father was a merchant. They taught Saint Paul to be against Christianity and to hate them. When Saint Paul grew up to be an adult his work was to arrest and persecute Christians.
Conversion
St Paul became a Christian when he was on his way to persecute Christians. When Saul had almost reached Damascus, a bright light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice that said, "Saul! Saul! Why are you so cruel to me?..
