Domestic violence among Asian Women Violence against women is a critical public health problem that has devastating physical and emotional consequences for women, children and families. Domestic violence is essentially the misuse of power and the exercise of control. It involves the physical, sexual, emotional and mental abuse of women by men with whom they have relationship. Domestic violence is never a one off isolated incident it is a systematic pattern of abusive behavior not always physical that builds up and escalates in frequency and severity over time. Domestic Violence happens in every community, social class, family income, level of education, ethnic or racial background make no difference.
