A spring is attached to a stationary point and a mass is attached. ... Some factors that affect the period of the oscillation are the motion of the attached mass, the amplitude of the oscillation, and the time required for the spring to stop oscillating.
The height from where the mass is dropped affects the period of the oscillation, because depending on the height of the mass it takes more time to go back to its original state. The motion of the attached mass is affect by how firmly the spring is being hold – the one who is holding the spring is moving his/her hand or not.
