The Charming Illusion : A literary Analysis on Budge Wilson's The Charmer

The Charming Illusion gThe Charmerh written by Budge Wilson tells of the illusion of a person and the deception that goes with it. Winnifredfs adoration with her brother distorts her perception of what is real and what is an illusion. Zack, the main characterfs older brother, uses illusion and charm to get what he wants such as his bike washed, a piece of cake and being idled. Zack is also very cunning and manipulative, this is shown when he quotes the bible and sayfs I am, gno longer worthy to be called thy son. [Make me] one of thy hired servants.h(103) Winnifred, the main character, believes that Zack is God like and describes him as, ga movie star or TV hero.h(101) As Winnifred grows up she realizes that she is being betrayed by Zack, ghe never once visited her [Lizzie] during those last awful six weeks in the hospital.
