Consumer interest in alternative medicine has soared over the past decade. What was once considered as primitive, unscientific and ineffective has now been embraced into mainstream medicine. Annually, Americans spend ten billion dollars on alternative therapies (Kothari). Many of these therapies now strongly rely on the administration of alternative drugs or supplements.
