Before he became famous, many people would say that Belushi was your “Average Joe”, or should I say, “Average John”? According to current biography, John Belushi was born on January 24, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to parents Agnes and Adam Belushi. While in high school, John participated in many extracurricular activities, including choir, forensics, playing the drums in his high school rock and roll band, and that drama club, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Judith. At 5’9” and 170 pounds, Belushi played many sports, including: track, wrestling, baseball, and football, his main sport. An all-conference middle linebacker, he was co-captain and was dubbed the name “Killer Belushi” by his teammates. Belushi was a very popular guy in high school; when he graduated Wheaton Central High School in 1967 his peers voted him Homecoming King and “Most Humorous”.
