Gillette’s CEO, James Kilts proves he has the experience, knowledge and skills necessary to improve strategy and reposition brand identity in a competitive framework. In my opinion, good leadership qualities go hand in hand with essential management skills for any manager to be successful in any company. Briefly, these leadership qualities to include the ability to assess your environment, your people and to apply the appropriate skills per specific situation. You must be able to be flexible and understand the nature of a changing environment as well as how to address this environment. You must set direction, communication, feedback and adapt your approach to the different styles and personalities of your people. There are many essential skills necessary for success. For example, know who your competitors are, do your research, brand identification, effective product marketing, increase revenues and cut costs while at the same time keep your employees happy, productive and efficient.
