In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, there is one scene that is a true turning point. This scene is Act III scene I in which Romeo kills Tybalt after Tybalt has killed Mercutio. This has many repercussions for Romeo and I plan to show them and describe them. ...
To truly understand the turning point in the play, we must look at the plot and the themes. ... The quote is on line 57-58:
“Romeo, the love I bear thee can afford
no better term than this: thou art a villain.”
In this quote, Tybalt is saying that the only love that he can have for Romeo is the love of hate, he despises Romeo because of his name. ... This quote would also insult Romeo as it also means that he is of low intelligence and is a fool. Normally the insulted man, Romeo, would have requested a dual for his honour but not here.
