Case I: Collision Course In Commercial Aircraft: Boeing Airbus McDonnell Douglas In this case there are three manufacturers but only two are direct competitors. · Because of Airbus’s increasing market presence my first suggestion would be for Boeing to quickly acquire McDonnell Douglas to increase its commercial aircraft business. · In this case competing can make the more successful company stronger because of innovation and different procedures that take place to eliminate competition. Furthermore, because Boeing is more of an engineering driven company, Boeing should focus on being first in technology research and market research, and creating a more aggressive product line in attempt to eliminate competition and to cut cost and meet consumer demand. Therefore, placing focus on innovation and differentiation. Allowing them to reach new market segments before Airbus.
