The United States of America did not need to get involved in so many foreign conflicts without accomplishing anything. Many conflicts the United States of America has been involved in, America has pulled out before they accomplished anything. America should not have risked so many American lives if they were not going to finish what they started and have thousands of people dies without accomplishing their goal. Some of the conflicts the United States did not complete were the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Both of these wars were to stop the spread of Communism. Communism is a system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy. A single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which the people equally share all goods. The United States desire to contain Communism has not ended. There are still Communist nations such as The People’s Republic of China, Vietnam, Cuba, and others. The Korean War, Vietnam war, and other conflicts during the cold war is why Communism exists today. The Korean War was an embarrassment to the United States of America. The US lost 36,000 lives in the war along with 228,000 Korean soldiers, 717 Turkish soldiers, and 1,109 soldiers of the United Kingdom. Over 110,000 Americans were MIA or wounded. The Korean War began to unfold on February 8, 1948 when the North Korean People’s Army was officially activated.
