Good morning students, teachers, and parents, I am here today to talk to you about the serious problem facing many of our children today, Child Abuse. A simple definition is, the mistreatment or neglect of a child by his/her parent(s) or caregiver which results in injury or harm. ...
When most people hear of a child being abused they automatically think of the child being beaten, but it also includes being burned or the parents are not giving the child necessities they require like food, clothing or shelter. Abuse does not stop there, another type of abuse is Emotional Abuse which involves continuous yelling, criticizing, and also teasing the child. Children that are either physically or emotionally abused loose the ability to love and trust themselves and others, and have low self esteem, childhood physical abuse can leave them permanently deformed.
Neglect is another form of abuse and the one I feel is the cruelest.
