Investigation-What effects the frequency of a pendulum
In this investigation I will use my scientific knowledge to investigate “What effects the frequency of a pendulum”.
Introduction
In this experiment I will test different independent variables to determine a factor which will effect the period of a simple pendulum. To help with my predictions I have retreaved a quote out of science textbook:
“A pendulum consists of a weight, hanging from a fixed point. ... The pendulum pendulum will swing for a while before friction causes it to stop. The period of a pendulum, the time it takes to swing backwards and forwards once,is the same regardless of the weight of the weight. The period depends on the pendulum’s length”
The pendulum I am using consists of a mass of plasticine hanging on an end of a string. ...
• The bob always weighs 37 grams (the beginning weight)
• Ensure ther’re no obstructions which could cause the pendulum to slow or stop.
