Let us suppose for a moment that "Xerxes Is Persuaded to Invade Greece" is the only historical document we can find from that particular time period. ... Daris sons are two of the people that will be most involved in the upcoming battles with Greece. ... The Xerxes documet starts off with saying how enraged he was to hear that the Persians were defeated at the battle of Marathon. ... " The title of the document relays this characteristic as well, Xerxes is deciding to attack Greece, he isnt just going to do this for fun, he is doing it for power. If they took Greece, more specifically Athens, they would seriously shift the flux of power in their direction and become the most powerful nation-state of the ancient world at the time. ... Moreoever, Xerxes condones his attack on Greece much along the the lines of the childish argument, they started it.
