asdfafsdfkjansdbnoawgnoawnego As Raul trudged along through the seemingly endless desert that the sun-scorched earth had now become, he could hardly remember the days when life seemed to thrive, when water seemed to be as abundant as air, and when his life seemed worth living. Every step he took death seemed more and more likely, and he wasn’t sure that was a bad thing. At this point his entire body felt like it was wasting away and every breath he took his throat seemed to scream in pain for water. It had been over two days since the last well in his colony had dried up. It had been over two days since he had left, unable to bear watching the people he had loved his entire life die a slow and painful death. It had been two days since he decided that he must at least try to salvage what was left of the world, it was the least he could do. For all he knew Destiny might already be gone. But he couldn’t think like that, not now, the one person in his life that he had loved more than anything else had now become the only thing that kept him going, his only reason to live. At this point the twenty other people back home in his colony whose lives were depending on him meant almost nothing. Their lives seemed so insignificant compared to hers. He wasn’t doing this for the rest of them, he was doing it for her, and her alone. He chuckled mildly thinking about the time when they were kids, staring out into the bright blue ocean with his arms around her, telling her that he loved her so much that he would walk to the ends of the earth for her, not realizing that twenty years later he would basically feel as if he was doing just that. He felt as if he had a giant weight crushing down on his heart knowing that they, humans, were the reason this all happened, through all the wars, through the horrors of modern science, through all the bombs that he himself had helped invent. He didn’t know that this would happen, those last few bombs weren’t supposed to be used. They were just prototypes, both his colleagues and he knew that if one of them went off all life anywhere near the blast would be done for, and much of the surrounding water would be vaporized. But ultimately, they all agreed that they had no other option. Thousands of miles away from where Raul and his team had done their work, other scientists had created some of the most horrifying creatures ever known to man. Through cloning and splicing DNA, the most horrible beasts ever to walk the earth were created. And now they had to be destroyed, the rest of the world was depending on it. Most of the cloning had been done in America, and that’s where most of these creatures were now in the process of taking down the most powerful nation in the world.
