Video games were first introduced in the 1970s. By the end of that decade they had become a preferred childhood leisure activity (Cesarone, Bernard,” Video Games and Children” 1994). The theme and the character of the video games started to change, from the “innocent ” ” Pong” -which was a non-aggressive video game- to the “Packman” which involved destruction but not human aggression (From Barbie to Mortal Kombat, 50) and finally to the “point and shoot video games” (Steinberg,21st century science & technology, 2000) or in general to the interactive games like “ Mortal Kombat” or “Carmageddon”.
According to an article by Mark Griffith, in Psychologist,”video games might have the capacity to promote aggressive tendencies or to release aggressive tendencies. And he continues, put more simply, social theory would hypothesize that playing aggressive video games would lead to the stimulation of aggressive behavior, i. ... The aim of this research is to show that video games have negative effects on the behavior, the health and the social life of children. ...
Children, who use aggressive video games, are being trained as soldiers! ... Can you imagine that the video-game industry sells to young children these types of video games? ... Psychologists call them young killers or Nintendo killers, as the following list indicates:
