12 Angry Men is a film just about that, twelve angry men. On a hot summer day, twelve men from a variety of different ethnic and economic backgrounds are to decide the fate of an eighteen-year-old man. This young man is Latin-American and is from a less then privileged neighborhood. He is accused of stabbing his father in the chest and then fleeing the scene of the crime, only to come back three hours later to be arrested for his murder. There is a variety of evidence that points to this young man as the perpetrator of the crime. Among these are two eyewitnesses, one claiming to have seen him stab his father through the window of a train passing, and the other that heard him yell “I’ll kill you” and then saw him fleeing the apartment. Also, the murder weapon that was used was identical to a knife bought by the suspect only hours before the crime. This evidence seems irrefutable. They do a quick vote expecting to quickly come to a verdict of guilty. However, when the vote is taken, there is one man who votes not-guilty. This one man, juror #8, tries to explain to all his other jurors that the case is not a cut-and-dry as it seems to be. He does not debate that the young man is innocent; he does however try to show each of the other jurors that this case does cast the shadow of reasonable doubt.
