Views of Twain’s “The Story of a Good Little Boy”
“The Story of the Good Little Boy” is a short story that was written by Mark Twain. The main character of the story is a tragic little boy named Jacob Blivens. Little Jake’s got this whole Sunday-school thing going on, which I don’t get, he tries to stop some kid from stealing some apples, helps a blind man, a dog, some boys pleasuring themselves in a sailboat, more dogs, and ultimately blows himself up in a million pieces. ... Although I am making a mockery of this story, there are lessons to be learned here, so that little Jake’s death won’t be in vein. In this essay members in my group and I will give our views about this story, and we will see how they contrast each other.
