This is an essay I wrote for english in 9th grade on the differences between punk and rap music. ... CHECK IT OUT
There are specific differences between the punk music scene and the rap music scene; heavier guitars and louder voices are not the most important difference. People who write music thats known as punk talk more about issues that are going on in our society now and how they are affecting people, whereas people who write music thats known as rap usually discuss things that only are affecting them instead of the whole world. ...
I personally prefer punk music over rap because it addresses issues that need to be addresssed, such as the rights of minorities and other oppressed people, our government, and what is going on in our country. Whereas rap focuses more on breakups, hookups, and shootong up.
Whats great about "punk" music is that what they sing about are not things you hear everyday. ... An example of this is a song called "Right To Choose" by a punk group know as Anti-flag.
