The readers of Sight and Sound, the British Film Institute´s monthly magazine (as well as many others) regularly vote for Citizen Kane as being the best film ever made. ... I even read on a Citizen Kane-fanpage that there are not very many people who agree on the “fact” that it is the best film ever made. ... Kane himself, played by Orson Welles, he was real and convincing and really moved me. ...
Of course it´s also important to have a good story to make a good film, and Citizen Kane is also a very good story with a good plot. In short words the story is about the newspaper-owner Charles Foster Kane who was a big success in life, becomes the most powerful man in USA, except for the president, but when he dies his life becomes a mystery because of his last words; Rosebud.
