Fact Versus Fiction

The battle between the importance of fiction versus the importance of non-fiction has been going on for many years. Some authors and critics believe that non-fiction is more relevant because information on actual events serves a greater purpose. But others side with fiction, saying that fiction gives you a greater outlook on life by using your imagination and causing you to be more open-minded. In my opinion, I think fiction and non-fiction are both equally vital and here’s why.

First, I want to look at non-fiction and the purpose that it can serve. Non-fiction is writings that are based on facts, dates, places, and actual events. ... That is one reason why fiction stories are so important.
