Introduction

This essay will discuss value within an organisation, more specifically, individual values, and its importance to organisational behaviour. This essay will also discuss the importance of understanding differences between national cultures and its impact on the value within an organisation, as well as on employee behaviour at work. Lastly, examples will be given pertaining to the findings made within this essay, and the related differences between organisational values from employee in Japan and the United States of America.

What are individual values, and why are they so important in organisation behaviour?

Individual values are the fundamental beliefs a person holds about an issue, a course of action, or the desirability of a future situation.
