This letter is regarding to the trial and punishment of Hester Prynne. As a fellow Puritan, I believe that this young women’s punishment was completely unacceptable. You can go ahead and call me a rebel Puritan but I don’t care. This behavior, though the propriety, should never be repeated again. We the puritans, succeeded from the Church of England because we sought to purify, or reform and establish a middle course between Roman Catholicism and the ideas of the Protestant reformers. From there we have become the most dominant religions. We need to set an example!
