Ephedrine Purpose: To persuade the audience in the ban of ephedrine supplements from the United States. I. Introduction: A. Do you remember Steve Bechler? Well, Steve Bechler was a 23-year-old pitching prospect for the Baltimore Orioles who died of heatstroke back in February of 2002. According to McLean Va and Gary Mihoces, both columnists for USA Today, a later report by the medical examiner revealed one of the elements contributing to Bechler’s death was his use of ephedrine supplement. B. The CNN official website exposes the FDA estimates 31% of the ephedrine users suffered from adverse effect from ephedrine supplements. C. Ephedrine must be banned from the United States. D. In order to convince you of that the nation must make ephedrine illegal in the United States as standard I will discuss first the history of ephedrine, why ephedrine must be ban, and what you can do to help.
