Fairy Tales Essay

... After about fifteen years of struggling in the world of performing arts, he published his first collection of fairy tales in 1835, entitled Eventyr, which would eventually lead him to his fame. ... Due to this rejection of women in Andersen’s life, several of his tales reflect the terrible relationships of love and relate the beauty of loving someone to horrific feelings of pain and suffering. Therefore, Hans Christian Andersen’s representation of love relationships in his tales are a product of the cruel feelings that he acquired over his lifetime from the rejection he suffered from the women he fell in love with.
