The Ten Commandments
One of the most important Christian events that the world has recognized today is the giving of the Ten Commandments by God to Moses. The Ten Commandments directly set forth the one true God. For that reason they are sacred, unique and deserve above all prominent place in our society. Today the commandments serve as a body of ethical and spiritual principles for the morally accepted behavior of individuals.
The Ten Commandments are the basis of our civilization. Yet, in today’s materialistic society the radical significance of the Ten Commandments is rarely appreciated. Some of the commandments are greatly lacking in our behavior, others are misused for different reasons. ... Our society is shaped in a way that cursing, swearing, lying or mentioning God’s name every day for insignificant reasons, is “accepted”.
