Smaller Farms vs. Corporate Farms
The Farming industry has remained the same for centuries. Most farms were run by families and they stayed in that family for years. Now we have come to an age where these small farms are not efficient to our society. We now rely on corporate farms that produce mass quantities of milk, beef, and other livestock at cheaper prices. Don Parrish of the American Farm Bureau Federation states that, “Large farms are satisfying American consumers’ hunger for cheap, lean meat” (Gersema, Par. ... This may seem better at a quick glance but there are many problems with these farms. ... This is true for those small family farms but corporate farms distort the picture.
