This film which was made in 1980 reflects a unique form of pop psychology in its storyline, and rich graphic imagery for that technical period of film production. The director of this film Ken Russell used the storyline written by Paddy Chayefsky to create his own version of the “quest for the ultimate truth”. In that context he will expose the audience to a complicated story with one purpose- to make them think about the meaning of life and human existence, through their own concepts and perceptions. In this film, a scientist is experimenting with altered states of consciousness, using sensory deprivation tanks and psychedelic drugs.
