Jonathan A. Kokoszka COM112 - Great Film Directors 9/22/03 Vertigo Alfred Hitchcock's film, Vertigo, is interesting in many ways. Vertigo is the right choice as a title to this film in that the viewer is dizzied by the many twists in the plot and that reality or the truth is distorted. Hitchcock uses a variety of elements to build and foreshadow relationships and events in this film. Hitchcock also uses interesting camera movements to create the desired effects that add depth to a characters point of view. In the opening of the movie Hitchcock uses an extreme close up of Kim Novak's eye with a spinning spiral in her eye as an icon which can be seen in several scenes in this film.
