A01-explain what a study of Mark’s Gospel can tell Christians about the nature of discipleship?
Disciple-the term used to describe the followers of Jesus, literally someone who learns or ‘is a pupil’
Marks gospel can teach us many things as Christians not least so about discipleship. The theme of discipleship is so powerful throughout Marks gospel it is almost preached about by everyone. There are so many stories about the twelve disciples that make up Marks gospel you have; ‘cost of discipleship’ which is about when you leave everything behind and just follow Jesus because you can live without all the luxuries of fine clothes and jewellery all you need are the bare necessities if you are going to follow Jesus. So Marks gospel teaches us this throughout that some things you can live without as long as you follow one another in the right direction, the direction of god.
