From my point of view this conflict cant be resolved. ... Soon after though, there was a suicide bombing killed 28 Israeli civilians which prompted Israel to roll tanks into the West Bank cities, round up suspected terrorist, and confine Arafat to his Ram Allah headquarters for a month. ... Clinton, who was president of the United States at the time, invited Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat for a summit at Camp David, Maryland to be convened on July 11, 2000. ... Clinton’s purpose for this meeting was to show that the Israeli side was committing itself to the Peace Process and that it was willing to make the necessary agreements. Prime Minister Barak was trying with all his capacity to reach an agreement, proposing and offering the most substantial concessions and far reaching proposals, going beyond the Israeli “red line”, especially in regards to Jerusalem.
