The point of a good movie is to evoke emotion from the audience. Often times, the director’s intent is to make the viewer angry or sad to get them to relate to the characters and to just stir up a reaction in them. While watching the beginning of the film, “Made”, starring, written and directed by Jon Favreau, it is assumed that this was what the director was trying to do. In the film, the protagonist, Bobby (Favreau) is a “wanna-be” boxer who just wants to settle down with his stripper girlfriend and her daughter. His lifelong friend Ricky, played by Vince Vaughn, is a smalltime hustler who dreams of being in the mafia and becoming rich. Bobby watches out for Ricky and gets him a job, but time and time again, Ricky screws him over with his big mouth and even more largely inflated ego. From the first scene of the movie to the last, Ricky is a nuisance that Bobby has to put up with, but to the audience, he is an annoyance and detracts from the point of the movie, friendship.
