There is no change at the top of the Premiership as Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all won this afternoon. Arsenal brushed aside Leeds at Elland Road with a 4-1 win, while United also had little trouble at home to Portsmouth where they won 3-0. However, it was tighter for Chelsea, who won 1-0 away to Everton. Manchester City and Bolton have both won away to Southampton and Tottenham respectively, while Middlesbrough beat Wolves 2-0 at the Riverside. In the remaining match Newcastle were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa, who were down to ten men in the second half and saved a penalty from Alan Shearer. Everton 0 Chelsea 1 Adrian Mutu broke the deadlock at Goodison Park to continue Everton's poor run of results. However, the home side and reported Chelsea target Wayne Rooney in particular were dangerous and Claudio Ranieri's side were fortunate to hold on to victory.
