What do escalators, elevators, riding lawn mowers, and automobiles have in common? These are all labor-saving inventions, allowing us to choose the effortless approach. In reality effortlessness seems to add simplicity to our fast paced, chaotic lifestyles, but at what cost? We now live in a society where you can find a McDonalds or Burger King on every street corner, and not only are they on every street corner, making it easy to find the high fat, innutritious, inexpensive and heavily advertised food, but you don’t even have to get out of your car to get it. Nonetheless, the food is available for you at the pick- up window within minutes. Technology has made all this possible, but has it worked in our favor or against us, when it comes to health? If you look back at our ancestors, obesity was never an issue.
