A day in the Life… “Hmmm…..Nmmmm…Hrrrrrr…..Turn it downnn…..Mmmmm.” POW. It dawns on me I am on longer in a dream; the music pounding from my clock radio is as real as the reborn daylight, glistening off the dewy grass outside my bay window. Repercussions of the night before are the first things that I feel, the throbbing headache and squirming stomach have become part of my everyday formula, seldom do I wake up healthy. An invisible force pulls me from the tangled sheets and directs me towards the shower, with an inevitable detour taken first to the toilet. I am too afraid to see what is coming forth from me, so I flush and close the lid before opening my eyes. The comfort and soothing of the shower’s warm caress makes me want to never leave, but duty calls – and at 9:16am I throw on some random items of clothing found strewn on my floor, and head to the car.
