Depressants What are Depressants? Basically, a drug that makes you dizzy, and many other effects that damage your system and could kill you. Why would you want that? What is a Depressant? It's a drug that depresses the Central Nervous System, which is very unhealthy. What are the street names/slang terms for Depressants? There are many depressants, but our group chose Alcohol since it's the most common one, to answer all the questions on. Another type of depressant is a Barbiturate. There are 3 main Barbiturates that come in pill or capsule form, and can also have different colors. They have street names that include: downers, barbs, red devils, blue devils, yellows or yellow jackets. For alcohol there aren't really slang terms, but different drinks that contain it are Booze, Beer, Hooch, Liquor, or Wine, which you've all probably heard of. What does it look like?
