311 Music The CD that I have chosen is a great band by the name of Three-Eleven. If I had to categorize this Cd, I would have to sat that it is a compilation of rock, punk, hip hop, funk, and reggae; you could say that 311 have their own style of music, the 311 sound transcends any genre out there. This one goes from quiet (Intro) too loud (Feels So Good), from fast (Plain) to slow (Nix Hex), from angry (Fat Chance) too joyful (Do You Right) and through it all never loses your attention. This album truly defines 311 as a musical group. Three-Eleven is by far the best band, of my generation, to ever grace adolescents, teens, and even adults with their attitude to constantly reach further and give every fan a little piece of each type of music. Their music is dedicated to positivety, and that plays a big role in why they are my favorite band out there. All of the band members grew up in the punk era, but they really grew up on funk. So this sort of puts a different attitude to a lot of their songs. I also like how they talk about matters straight up, without putting a bad name on it; for example: they talk about how they smoke dope, and enjoy it, but they say that that’s their thing and they are going to keep doing that until they harm someone with it. They even say this in their lyrics; they say do “do what you will should be the whole of the laws, until you violate the rights of another, respect the space of your sister and your brother.” Another great thing about Three-Eleven is that they write their own music, and are excellent musicians.
