From 1918 to 1920 India was under the control and rule of an imperialistic Britain. ... These subject people were very unhappy about the situation, which eventually led to a Nationalist movement in the 1920’s to get more self-government for the people of India. In response the British leaders often tried to repress these nationalists to promote and ensure imperialism in India. ... All of these were true in the case of India. Often the subject people are unhappy with this situation as they have little or no say in the ruling of their country and sometimes human rights are ignored which was also true in India. ... When Britain went to war India was dragged in to the war as well. ... Another reason they were angry was the Defence of India Act. ... A committee under Justice Rowlatt had written and passed this Act, which continued some aspects of the Defence of India Act into peacetimes. ... Imperialism was still in place in India and the ruling power had little consideration for the rights of the subject people.
