Guarding the Shoreline against the Vikings This edition will explain how the people of Norway are going to defend their country from the Vikings. Before this article will go into more detail into the invasion of the Vikings in Norway, you should recall the invasion that the Vikings had against Sweden a couple years ago. I am sure you remember how horrifying that was but you were relieved it did not happen to Norway. There are however recent reports that state Norway could be attacked by the Vikings soon. Even a couple years after the attack on Sweden by the Vikings, the country is still recovering from those brutal attacks. Since recent reports have shown that Norway could be next, the king of Norway is taking no chances and is planning out a way to stop the Vikings from invading Norway. The rest of the article will mention what the king is going to do in preparation for these attacks. The king of Norway ordered for walls to be built around the shoreline where houses are located. These walls would be about nine feet high from the ground. The top of the walls would have pointy spikes, which would make it extremely difficult for the Vikings to climb over. The king thought that castles should be built behind these walls. He felt that these small castles should be about fifteen feet high with people shooting arrows inside of them. This would make it even more difficult for the Vikings to break through the walls on the shoreline. The queen of the king of Norway had a couple of ideas herself on how to prepare for the attacks. She said that sharp logs should be built on the hills of the coastline. She said that these logs would easily sink the ships that are trying to reach the top of that area. She also had an idea for poisonous plants to be planted along the shoreline. These plants grew poisonous fruits and she figured that the Vikings would eat these plants once they reach land. The Vikings would die hours later after eating these poisonous fruits. In case an attack would actually occur, the king had large noise making objects built all over the land that would notify the people that the Vikings are coming. When this loud sound occurs, all of the king’s knights would go behind the walls in case the Vikings broke though it. The people shooting arrows would go up to their place in the castles to get ready to shoot at the Vikings. If the Vikings break through these walls and got pass the knights, they would probably kill the innocent people living in the towns and steal their valuables. Their main reason for invasion is to gain wealth and power.
