The people who design ads, sometimes or maybe all the time, no matter how similar they may seem, use different techniques to affect the consumer. They may try to stimulate the consumer in the same form, but in many different ways. The Spark and Kenneth Cole Fragrance ads, from the Men’s Journal, are two of such ads. These two ads if just glanced at for a quick second would seem the same, but if looked at carefully one would see the different techniques used and how they would affect the consumer. The similarities of the two fragrance ads are basically just the action or event occurring. Both ads show a white male and female about to kiss. Also the way the females in the two ads pull or tug the male towards them. Other than that, the photographers or designers of the ads used many other techniques that are not similar. First of all, the themes of the two ads are totally different. The theme for the Spark ad is love. It portrays the two actors or models in a way as if they were in love or falling in love.
