A Bronx Tale A Bronx Tale discusses many aspects of a child’s life in New York City during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Racism and discrimination take large roles in their lives as well as the opinions of friends and loved one’s. Calogero, the son of a hard working bus driver named Lorenzo, is brought up in a neighborhood that is bombarded daily with crime. The local crime boss, Sonny is in conflict with Calogero’s father over the very impressionable Calogero and how he is taught different aspects of life. The setting of an Italian crime organization living next to Calogero throws away his baseball cards against his father Lorenzo’s wishes. Baseball card collecting was very evident of pop culture during the 1950’5. Although the audience is never informed of what exactly Sunny does the audience can speculate it’s not good.
