Gattaca Film Language

In films, a language is used to help determine a viewers response to the ideas, characters and issues. The film directed by Andrew Nicol, uses the codes of film language such as camera angles, lighting, music and dialogue, to create an exaggeration of the future. The story based on the character Vincent Anton Freeman a god child presents many themes and issues by the use of this language, and shows that human motivation can beat the odds of society at the time. The language encourages the viewer to respond to Vincent in a way that the director wants them to.

The film is set in the near future, based on the genetic testing that is being used today. It is hard to tell that the film is set in the future because of the style of the clothing and some of the technology is used today and some from the past. ...
