The majority of the world considers teenagers as "young adults". I believe that may be a cop-out so that discipline can be relaxed or not used at all. Young children may be strong willed children but they generally accept discipline from their parents, however, as they mature and become teens their very nature demands that they start questioning boundaries so that when they are independent they will know how to act. Teenagers still need discipline, letting them fend for themselves is an awful idea. They are not "young adults" they are adolescents in need of guidance. We owe it to the youth of today to provide it.
