In Dante's Inferno by Dante Alighieri, the theme that is vastly portrayed the most is the detailed beliefs of religion. Religion is defined as a belief in and/or respect for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. A major part of religion is the holy bible that serves for all roots of our beliefs. Many people study the holy bible in order to find god in there life and to learn how to pursue the right for forgiveness for there sins here on earth. In Dante's Inferno, The main character Dante portrays a journey through the realms of hell, purgatory and heaven (paradise) to find the very reason why humans must reach death to find peace with god. Another very important reason is the basis of the entire poem which is revolved around the seven deadly sins. Dante Alighieri used the Inferno as an allegory, which means that almost every part of the poem symbolizes aspects of the theme, which in this case is religion.
Dante establishes the seven deadly sins of hell as he passes through the seven circles. The sins consist of Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony and Lust. Each of these sins, according to the bible state we should take a strong stand in our life in order to strive against them...
