Mysteries of the Ancient Civilizations
History in general remains a mystery to us even today. There aren't many primary sources remaining for historians and archeologists to make accurate conclusions about past events. Historians must hypothesize what might have happened, but the truth lies uncovered, and perhaps some questions will remain unanswered. This course is a journey through the history of mankind from the very dawn of human creation to the modern era (16th century). The mystery of ancient civilizations is the result of lack of knowledge, and uncertainty of how the human mind worked. These were highly complex societies that in some ways meet and surpass the achievements and knowledge of our own "modern" society. I think that this course should be called Mysteries of the Ancient Civilizations, because it focuses on different civilizations that are truly mysterious for us, since there are not many sources remaining, more specifically primary sources. Also these civilizations are mysterious because it might be hard for us, "modern" people, to fully understand the philosophical and mental principles upon which they have based their societies.
Much of our knowledge of history comes from different sources. It's like sitting in a library and researching for a class project or ISU...
