Looking back at historical documents such as, the constitution it can be seen that America was built on the ideals of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (Constitution)." It can therefore be deduced that by not legalizing marijuana that the government is somewhat going against the constitution. Marijuana should be legalized.
The argument made by most marijuana being legalized would cause all other drugs such as heroin to be legalized. Alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and morphine are all drugs that are legal in different ways. Will making marijuana as legal as tobacco somehow lead to making heroin as legal as caffeine?
There are many reasons why marijuana should be legalized. For instance; marijuana can help the government and also help patients to be treated. With the legalization of marijuana, should, also come some rules such as a certain age that a person is allowed to purchase.
