Abstract

In this paper I will be addressing the marketing research style of St. Joseph's Medical Center in Tacoma Washington. Every institution has some sort of marketing style and method and as I will show health care is no different however, the market is ever changing and requires up-to-the- minute changes and response to keep up with other major medical facilities.
Information Collection

St. Joseph's Medical Center, SJMC, takes pride in being very customer service oriented and includes being very employee oriented also. SJMC utilizes several different routes of information collection to include internet, customer surveys, and phone calling to out patients. Marketing works both side-by-side with employees and patients to pride the highest quality of care possible.
Through surveys, marketing instituted a remodeling project to accommodate the growing population of patients and enable the facility to take on other services like the growing market for gastric bypass and the facilities to accommodate the patients and staff needed for this.
SJMC utilizes the internet to gather information from both employees and patients for ideas into wellness programs, amenities for visitors, and employment recruiting.
