The Holocaust, or Final Solution, was a tragedy that hit the European Jewish community hard. Unfortunately, many people do not know the horrors faced by the tortured masses. Back then, many people relied on the hope that their family members were still alive to keep them motivated. For a young fifteen-year-old the experiences were all too real. His name is Elie Wiesel. A very integral part to his survival was his father's persistence. They pushed each other like track runners pushing their teammates. After his father's death Elie admitted that "life no longer matterednothing could touch me anymore (Wiesel 107)." Obviously the two meant so much to each other. Three major points will be covered within the contents of this paper...
