Footballs come in different shapes and sizes and are used in games that are played with certain levels of contact. Often the contact can be harsh and hurtful to the players. Sometimes fights can break out which become painful brawls as more players join in and can sideline and hospitalise players for weeks, months, years or permanently stop them from playing their sport ever again. So where do you draw the line between violence and sport? Is football that important? Do you place that much importance on it yourself?
The dictionary describes violence as physical force exerted for the purpose of violating, damaging, or abusing. Most forms of football have a system for treating the results of physical damage. Sometimes players are even put in the "blood bin", as the name suggests it is for players who have left the field bleeding. This usually is as a result of a hard tackle and can also be the result of a fight between players damaging each other...
