In order to critically assess the impact of e-commerce on traditional business system, it is perhaps appropriate to start by having a working definition of what e-commerce is. There are various definitions of electronic business or electronic commerce that has been put forward for purpose of this assignment, the "Whatis.com" definition is adopted. E-commerce is defined as "the conduct of business on internet , not only buying and selling but also servicing customers and collaborating with business partners"(Chen ,2001 p.2).
